Truthful Tuesday

I am going to join my friend Erin in Truthful Tuesday! It's time to confess some simple/funny things about my life!

1. I am absolutely obsessed with the Real Housewives series on Bravo! If I miss it at 10:00 pm, I will stay up until they show it again at 11:30! My favorite cast is the OC (now possibly New Jersey) and my least favorite is New York! There is just something entertaining about the drama with these women! Sad, I know, but I love it!

2. Sometimes Hunter and I will stay in our PJ's all day long and I will shower right before Brett gets home! I just don't see the point in putting make up on, dressing up, and getting ready to hang out with Hunter!

3. I still watch Hunter when he sleeps at night like he is a newborn! There is nothing more precious and I ask myself where the time has gone.

4. I really want to have the basketball belly with this pregnancy, but I won't! I didn't have it with Hunter and people tell me how fortunate I am that I don't with this one either! I just feel like I look like a big blob and women with that kind of belly are ten times cuter!

5. The only place that is enhancing with this pregnancy are my girls, which I absolutely HATE! Women tell me all the time to enjoy it and that they have paid big bucks for theirs, but I despise it! Too much information I know, but it feels good to let this out!

And Lori, I promise to post a belly picture when I get back from the beach! I'm currently following confession #2! ha

An Unexpected Trip to the ER!

Around 3:00, Monday afternoon, I started experiencing back pain. I decided to take some Tylenol and use the heating pad, thinking the pain would go away. I thought maybe I had picked Hunter up wrong or had done too much that day- sometimes I forget that I am five months pregnant! By 8:00, I could no longer stand the pain. I couldn't stand, sit, move, without having this excruciating pain. I called the doctor on call and he told me he couldn't really diagnose me over the phone, but he believed I had a kidney stone. By 8:30, I could barely walk, I was in so much pain that is was making me vomit (too much info right, but I'm just sharing the severity of my pain), I was crying hysterically and couldn't even think clearly! I called Brett to come home ( he has class on Monday night) to take me to the hospital and my mother-in-law came over to get Hunter! I must have sounded terrible on the phone because Viv jumped in her car without even putting shoes on!

We got to the ER and they moved me to the Labor & Delivery floor to monitor the baby. The good news is the baby is fine and was fine the whole time. I could no longer walk at this point and was still getting sick. The doctor on call decided to keep me over night to monitor me and to give me pain medicine. I was in such severe pain, they gave me morphine and phenergan! By the next day, I felt like a new woman! I had no back pain, just soreness and I was extremely tired. After running several tests through the night and next day, having numerous ultrasounds done, and looking at my symptoms, my doctor came to the conclusion that I had a kidney stone! I hope no one ever has to experience these, because it was by far worse than any labor pain I had with Hunter! I am thankful that Brett took such good care of me and stayed with me all night and day. I also had a wonderful nurse who I have requested, if she is working that day, to be with me when I go into labor. I am going to try and take it easy these next few days, but it's hard to when you have a three year old running around and you're trying to get ready for the beach!

Now onto the big news I was suppose to reveal yesterday! Baby Spradlen's name is going to be BRODY THOMAS! Brett picked out Brody and I liked it as well! Let the monogramming begin!I had an ultrasound of the baby yesterday, the only good thing about my whole hospital experience, and he now weighs one pound, one ounce! From all of the measurements, the ultrasound says my due date is October 29th, just one day ahead of schedule! We are so excited and can't wait to meet this little one!

Beach Bound Soon!

Sun, Ocean, Shopping- what more could a girl want?! We are leaving for the beach next week and we are so excited and ready! We've started to get our things packed and the big Wal-Mart trip is coming soon! I can't wait to put my toes in the sand, watch Hunter have a blast, and spend time with Brett! The one thing I'm not looking forward to are the maternity bathing suits! haha I don't quite have a big belly, so they look a little weird, but I'm too big in some areas for my old bathing suits- if you catch the hint!

We had a blast this past weekend at the third wedding of the summer! Our close friends Matt and Jessica got married! Brett was a groomsman and I did the programs/book! They also put the pressure on me to put Jess' veil in...none of the bridesmaids wanted to do it for fear of messing up her hair and they all knew that I knew how to do it! It's no secret that I am a prissy girl and love weddings! I did it with no problem and she looked beautiful! I'm anxious to see pics of me putting the veil in though because I was holding my mouth/tongue every which way putting the comb of the veil in- it should be funny :o) We love you Matt and Jess and hope you are having a wonderful honeymoon at the Atlantis! I haven't downloaded pics, but I will later!

We have picked a name for Baby Spradlen, but you will have to wait until the next post! Oh, the anticipation! And for those of you that know, shhhhh! I will reveal it tomorrow!

It's A Boy!

We went to the doctor Friday and found out that we are having a boy! Throughout my pregnancy, Brett and I both knew we were having a boy and we were right! My doctor told me all it takes sometimes is the parents intuition! The appointment went great and Baby Spradlen is right on schedule! He is seven inches long and weighs eleven ounces! He can hear my blood and heartbeat, and may even be able to discern my voice! He won't be able to hear most external noises until the end of this trimester.

What a gorgeous baby, right?! Of course, I'm partial since he is mine! We don't have a name picked out yet and we don't have any ideas either! The only thing we do have figured out is his middle name. It will be Thomas (not after the train for Hunter) after Brett's Uncle Calvin! His middle name is Thomas! We just love Uncle Calvin and Aunt Gina and they have two wonderful daughters, Lindsay and Lauren who I am extremely close to!

Another profile picture! I didn't put his it's a boy picture on here, but trust me, it's a boy! And he wasn't shy about it either!

We went shopping yesterday in Pigeon Forge at the Outlets (it's so nice living just 30 minutes from them) and of course we came home with new clothes for the baby! Carter's had a lot of things 70% off, so we got two layette sets, two blankets, and a football sleep and play outfit! Hunter helped pick out the duck set and matching blanket! All of this was 70% off- I had to limit
myself! We are going to the beach in two weeks and there is another outlet mall there too-oh my!

We couldn't be more thrilled and we are so excited for Hunter to have a baby brother! I am destined to be queen of the household! Let's just hope this boy looks a little bit like me or we will have another Brett Jr. :o) Keep praying for our growing family!

Hunter's Birthday Party!

We had Hunter's third birthday party at the house this past weekend! He had a blast, although he was somewhat tired through it all! We had lots of friends and family stop by and I was exhausted by the time it was over! The only thing that went wrong is the cake-I'm allowed to vent about silly stuff on my blog, right?!

I went to pick up the cake right before the party started and when the lady handed it to me, I was a little surprised! This is not what I had ordered and this was not the Cars design shown on the Internet or their book. I would not have ordered from them if I would have known that this is what it was going to look like. I know in the long run it doesn't matter, Hunter could care less, but I wanted the cake to be cute and this was NOT at all what I wanted! There it's out- I feel better :o) On the positive side, it did taste good!

Here's the birthday boy himself! Half smile, too busy to stop and say cheese! I didn't do too well with taking pictures- trying to be a hostess, run the party, run the video camera, take pictures, etc. It can get a little overwhelming, so I decided to relax, enjoy the party, watch Hunter have fun, and of course socialize with all of our friends and family!

Here are some of the kids in the bounce house we borrowed from my best friend Lori for the kids to jump on! The kids were constantly in and out of the house- it was so humid outside! They had a blast bouncing and playing and I am so thankful that we were able to use it! It was the BIG highlight of the party!

Here is the party boy all tuckered out! Next to him is his best friend Kainaan! We were getting ready to cut the cake and eat ice cream! When the party was over, Hunter fell asleep immediately- he was one tired boy!

I had to leave after the party to go to a baby shower- I told you all this summer was going to be crazy for me! It was for my friend Caroline who is due late July- she is having a little girl and they are naming her Keenlan! Speaking of baby things, this Friday is the big day! We can't wait- we still think it's a boy, but we will see!

Tummy Tuesday

I would like to dedicate this post to my friend Layne :o) She is always asking me to post pictures of my baby belly! She just had a precious baby girl in December and all throughout her pregnancy, I kept asking her to post belly pictures too!

I will be five months next week and as you can see, I still don't have much of a belly! Although, rest assured, other areas seem to keep enhancing themselves, which I'm not so thrilled about! The picture isn't the greatest and I look downright exhausted!

I hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend! We had a great time at the pool, grilling out, and spending time with friends and family! We are blessed!
