I Put Ketchup On My Ketchup

Brody has a new love and it's for KETCHUP! We were eating lunch the other day and he kept pointing at my plate that had ketchup on it. I decided to put a dab of it on his tray and within three seconds it was gone!

He couldn't get enough of it! I don't know how many times I had to put a dab of it on his tray. So now when he eats something ketchup worthy, I give him some! I saw a shirt when we were on vacation in Myrtle Beach a few years ago that said, I put ketchup on my ketchup- I just might have to buy it for him this year! :)

A Lazy Weekend...

This is what we have been doing most of this weekend! Snuggling, watching movies, and a little bit of playing. Both boys haven't felt the greatest, Brody being the worst. We haven't really done much these past few weeks, but somehow it felt like we were going non stop!

Look at those cheeks and teeth! His poor chin is so raw from drool! He has two teeth coming in and he's not the best at teething!

He's such a happy baby-he's still a baby to me! You definitely know he's sick or teething when he's fussy.

We did go to the Bounce House with Katie, Connor, and Cooper before school started back. Brody enjoyed playing with the toys outside of the bouncy areas the most!

He did manage to get inside of one, although I think it was because of the balls. This kid is obsessed with balls. If he spots one, look out!

Hunter and Connor playing basketball. These two had the best time while we were there!

Flying down the big slide all by himself! As soon as I went to tell Katie, he would never go down it by himself, I turned around and down he came! Before, when we went, Brett and I would always have to go down with him. I guess he's growing into a bigger boy than I thought-makes me sad! :(

Our Thursday nights have also been busy. Brett and Matt play in a basketball league together, so Jess and I try to go with them. I don't think we are bringing them any luck because every time we've gone, they've lost.

We took Hunter fishing again. We took him to a friend's pond and the only thing Hunter caught was a worm-straight from the bait bucket! I was surprised he was in that dirt digging around in them, but I guess he is all boy! We decided to take him to the lake to see if he could catch anything since it was such a beautiful day! Warning-picture below isn't terrible, but if you have an extremely weak stomach, don't look!

And on our way there, Brett cut his finger with his pocket knife. He was cutting something off of a fishing pole and sliced right into it. I was driving and if you all could have seen the blood gushing out- still makes my stomach flip! So instead of heading to the lake, we headed to the doctor. Luckily, he didn't have to get stitches and they were able to use the glue.

Fishing round 2! It was colder and it started raining, so we had to end this trip with no fish caught as well. I guess we are going to have to wait until spring!

So we are back in the swing of things! Hunter is back at school and this month is career month or whatever you call it in preschool. A police officer came with his dog and Hunter thought it was the greatest thing! He told me he now wants to be a police officer when he grows up! A dentist came the next time, but Hunter is still set on being a cop! His mouth is stained blue from cupcakes! They had two birthdays in his class, so they had a cupcake at lunch and snack! He was definitely sugared up!

Hopefully the boys are on the mend and we have watched Sam a.k.a Transformers a million times this weekend! Hunter and I are getting ready to make Valentines Day cookies while Brett and Brody finish their nap! I hope everyone has a great week!

New Year's Eve

I can't believe it's 2012! To be honest, I was pretty glad to see 2011 go! Not that is was a terrible, horrendous year, it just seemed more sad/bad happened than good to family and friends. So here is to a positive outlook on 2012! We joined friends at a country club for the big night! I kept saying, " You know we are getting old when we go to a country club for New Year's!" I had made this comment to my mom and she asked me if I remembered a certain picture. I did and she informed me that that was NYE and they all were going to a country club! It's official-we are turning into our parents! Terrible, but most decent picture I got of us all night! We were about to ring in the New Year!

John and Brett singing and dancing to Usher! We always have fun when we are with him and his wife, Brittany. If you follow my blog regularly, they are Olivia's parents- Brody's girlfriend! :)

Another one of Brett's best friends, Matt. I was handing the camera to Steve to take mine and Brett's picture and Matt jumped in!

So naturally, Brett had to get a picture with Matt's wife, Jessica! We love Matt and Jess!

Brad and Lindsey waiting for midnight! They are an adorable couple and we are just waiting to hear the news that they are engaged. For a split second, we thought Brad was going to do it that night!

Steve and Tracie! We've gotten to know them through Matt and Jess and they are tons of fun to be around as well!

Waiting for dinner to be served- my pictures are out of order! Every time we all get together, the girls sit on one end and the boys on the other! We always joke that it's like a middle school dance!

All of the girls! We had a fun, uneventful night! Our group was basically the party and our waitress kept telling us she would get the fuddy duddies (sp?) out so we could party!ha

Also, on a NYE note, I saw the movie New Year's Eve! It was cute and Hillary Swank's character had a great speech in it (talking about the ball drop), so I will leave you with it! Here's to a healthy, happy, and blessed 2012!

It's suspended there to remind us before we pop the champagne and celebrate the new year, to stop and reflect on the year that has gone by. To remember both our triumphs and our missteps, our promises made and broken. The times we opened ourselves up to great adventures or closed ourselves down for fear of getting hurt cause that is what new years is all about- getting another chance. A chance to forgive, to do better, to do more, to give more, to love more. And stop worrying about what if and start embracing what would be. So when that ball drops at midnight and it will drop, let's remember to be nice to each other, kind to each other. And not just tonight but all year long!
