Brody is One!

Brody is one! Can you believe it? Where did the time go? We had a sock monkey birthday party for him and it was wonderful to share this special day with friends and family!

The invitation! I covered our address and my phone number- you never know who reads your blog! I purchased this sock monkey kit off of etsy and couldn't have been more pleased!

The goody bags that I forgot to hand out! The tag inside the bag says Monkey Munchies and the tag up top says Thank You! By the way, I would say I spent about six hours cutting everything out! Everything came to me as a digital file, so I had it printed and I cut it all out by myself! Thank goodness there was a Jersey Shore marathon on! Yes, I love that trashy show!

The napkin holders! I mean this digital file had everything! Sadly, I didn't get the water bottle labels printed! I bought bottled water with good intentions, but I didn't realize how much work/time all of this would take-oops!

His sweet cake that made a five hour trip from Kentucky! My dad and Emily brought it with them. I sent a picture of what I wanted to a lady that Emily works with and she copied it perfectly!

The dessert table! Of course I had to get cupcakes too since the kit came with cupcake toppers! I also used a Pinterest idea for the first time. I know it's hard to see, but I put the forks for the cake in a mason jar and wrapped brown ribbon around it! I felt creative for a moment! :)

The food table! I had to share because I worked so hard on it and the food-I actually made quite a bit of it!

The birthday boy! This has been the fastest year of my life! It just doesn't seem right!

His Mater from Granna! He can actually drive it! I figured it would be a little while before he got any use out of it, but boy was I wrong. He knows how to push the button and go! We bought him the Rock and Roll Elmo and all of the additional instruments. We didn't get any pics of him with it of course, but he loves it! I highly recommend it and worth the money-especially if your child is an Elmo fan!

The smush cake before!

Time to dig in!

Waiting on him to spit that paci out! His doctor told me he wanted me to get rid of it by his fifteen month appointment. I'm going to go ahead and say that probably won't happen!

Here we go! We stripped him down to just a diaper since we knew he would be making a huge mess!

Cousin Kase helping out!

You can see the toppers and Pinterest idea much better here! I didn't realize I had this picture on here too! It's late and I should be in bed!

The smushed cake! :)

The tuckered out birthday boy! He fell asleep on Connor! You can see Brody's cute shirt here that I ordered off of Etsy too-it's a sock monkey with a red one and his name embroidered on the bottom! It is a dangerous website for your wallet!

The post party took place at the pumpkin patch! I'll post those pictures with my Halloween post! Happy birthday sweet Brody! We love you to the moon and back!

Giraffes, Power Rangers, and Cake! Oh my!!!

Halloween is just around the corner and we have been getting ready for it! The costumes and candy have been purchased and now all we lack is a visit to the pumpkin patch!

Sweet Brody in his giraffe costume! I could just eat him up!

The back of the costume is just as cute!

Hunter as the Red Power Ranger! Thanks to Mimi, his Halloween wish came true! He told us he only wanted to be a RPR and I was having the hardest time finding it in his size! Luckily, my mom found it and sent it to him!

Our next Halloween activity was making a confetti cake with Halloween colors! Hunter is stirring the batter here- he loves to cook with me! I call him my little chef!

Working hard and ready to put the cake in the oven!

Ready to go in!

30 minutes later...

With orange icing and Halloween sprinkles! I must admit, it was delicious and gone within a couple of days!

Practicing with the cake for his upcoming birthday! No worries- he has a sweet tooth like his mommy!

Shoving it it!

The next morning, the boys did some yard work to get ready for Brody's party! I walked outside and saw where Hunter brought his wheelbarrow right by Brett's and was working just as hard with his shovel! He loves Brett to pieces and wants to do everything like him!

It's amazing what happens when you are planning a birthday party at your house! We mulched, Brett decided to touch up some things in the house, and now we are PAINTING! We have an open area in our house where everyone will be and yes, it needed to be painted again, but a week before his party?!?! It's crazy what you do because everyone that is coming to his party has been to our house before, but for some reason, on this day, we want it to look PERFECT! I'm sure my next post will be Brody's birthday party- he will be one in a week!!! It's so hard to believe and I tell everyone that this has been the fastest year of my life! From what I hear, it will only go faster now!
